What is Electrolysis Laser Hair Removal?

Electrolysis is a type of technology commonly used in laser hair removal machines that removes individual hairs from the face or body by eradicating the follicles’ ability to grow hair with the use of laser heat energy. Simply put, it penetrates the skin and destroys the center of growth in the hair follicle.

Does Laser Hair Removal Hurt?

Basically, the laser heats up the hair follicle and surrounding tissue gradually and as a result most people feel like the hair is being pulled or plucked in addition to a slight burning sensation. However, many patients report that it actually hurts a lot less then they expected prior to treatment.

How effective is Laser Hair Removal?

Once you've decided to undergo laser hair removal, you can improve your the effectiveness of the treatment by letting your hair grow out in the place you wish to have it removed. In other words, it is advised that you stop any plucking or waxing for six weeks before treatment. This is simply because the laser needs the hair's roots present in order to stop growth, which are temporarily removed from the process of plucking and waxing. Make sure to also avoid ample exposure to sun for six weeks prior and post treatment.
